A little taste of action.
“All of this will have to be made up as I go. I don’t know what I will be asking of you, but it may be a lot. I know I said that I value life over everything else, but from what I know of this group they have no regard for life. If I have to get nasty, can you help me out?”
“Gerry we only have a few seconds. You are still thinking in your terms. I have seen some trillions of people live and die – probably much more. After a while I simply stopped counting. Whatever numbers you are thinking of, they are nothing to what I have already dealt with.”
“Good. I appreciate that, but I needed to ask. I know you are able to do a lot of things, and you will have to tell me if there is any time that I overstep the mark. OK, let’s go!”
Not really understanding what the plan was, but realising that he should – and could - trust this man from Earth, the Visitor said “As you wish, Gerry.”
Gerry appeared as Abaddon, as he had requested, without the Visitor actually showing, but Gerry knew that he was there. Abaddon was between the Boko Haram group and the pit. They were all armed to the teeth with automatic weapons, most of which were aimed at the pit, with what Gerry took to be at least 50 people in it. Right, this stops now, he thought.
“Who is in charge of this group?” screamed Abaddon. ”I need an answer, now!”
Such was the ferocity of her voice that the whole crowd took a step back. They were all confused as to where this woman had appeared from, and they couldn’t work out what to do next. Voices started being raised, asking “Who are you?” and “Where did you come from?”
Continuing in her loud voice “All of your questions are irrelevant, to me. Who is in charge?”
A man slowly moved forward, towards her location, his automatic rifle pointed clearly at her. “Make sure that no-one can shoot me, please.” This man’s arrogant pose told him that he wasn’t worried, even if he was curious about what had just happened. “That would be me, then, pretty lady.”
Abaddon turned on him, and he did actually flinch, and drew back, but only a few inches. “Good. Listen to me, and you may live to see another day. Ignore me and you will not.” She raised her voice, so that all could hear. “I will say this to you all only once. Everything here is being televised, shown to the world. What you do now will decide whether you and these others live for another day.”
The leader laughed. Always a bad sign, thought Abaddon. Damn it, why are they always so egotistic and stupid? “I don’t know who you are, woman, or how you got here, but you have a lot of nerve walking into here, and making any demands to us! Do you
